It is not always easy to find good toys that leave room for the child's imagination and still look good. The wooden cars in the ‘Duotone Cars’ series, designed by Dutch designer Floris Hovers for IKONIC are inspired by cars of the past. The minimalist wooden toy cars all have the timeless and colourful look Floris is known for.
The series now consists of several wooden cars, including sports cars, a sedan, transport van, a truck, a complete wooden tractor set and a wooden car with caravan, which is an absolute bestseller. The series can be endlessly expanded with many other types of cars, we can now reveal that more wooden toy cars will be added.
The print runs of the cars are usually relatively low, making the series highly collectible. Both on the packaging and on the underside of each wooden car is a serial number followed by a number, the latter being the so-called ‘batch number’ indicating which production the car comes from.
